myBMI

myBMI is an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to quickly and easily calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index).

The body mass index is a number that compares a person’s weight and height.  It is a useful tool to estimate a health
y body weight based on the height of a person and is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems.  The body mass index applies to both adult men and women.

myBMI uses the same BMI formula as the CDC and other internationally recognized health organizations.

myBMI allows calculation in both standard (feet and inches, inches, and lbs.) and metric units (cm and kg).

For ease of use, myBMI can store a default age and default units.

The BMI results are shown as a raw score and on a sliding graphical scale.

Note: BMI is both age and sex specific for children and teens (ages 2-20) in order to find out what category a child or teen falls into, you will need to plot the BMI score on a CDC BMI growth chart.
